Howie Mandel: Diet & Exercise on the Road

Balance is the hardest
thing that I find to do, in as far as, keep my career
going and do what I do. I love entertaining live. I still, to this day, do 200 live dates a year as a stand-up comic. So I’m on the road. You know, I have high cholesterol. I shouldn’t eat things that are fried. But many of the places I go, that’s the cuisine. It’s hard to walk into a local diner and ask
for the healthy menu. They don’t have a lot of salad places. They don’t have a lot of
vegetable and fruit emporiums where I go. My biggest food vices? Well, I love sweets. My food pyramid is not really a pyramid. It’s just a pile of chocolate. So it’s really important
for me to be cognizant of what I’m eating and how I’m exercising. Whenever I get a minute, when I get home, I’ll get on the treadmill. It’s really hard to kind of
really take care of yourself when it comes to diet and exercise, and do what I do on the road. And the older I get, and the more concerned
I get about my health, and the busier I am, the
more I am heart healthy. I try to eat as right as
possible, whenever possible. I exercise constantly. Alright, I’m back in the gym doing my sit-downs and diddly-squats. I stopped in the middle to do this video, but this is a sit-up. (piano music)
