Ab Workout with Dumbbells (CHISELED ABS!)

What’s up, guys? Jeff Cavaliere, ATHLEANX.com. We’re doing an ab workout today and we’re
using dumbbells. You see, I’m a proponent of incorporating
weighted ab work into your ab training. Not just that, you can actually – as you’ll
see today – use a dumbbell for, not just the added weight, but as an implement to do
your ab workout. You’re going to see in our third exercise
how we do that. But the idea here is, we’re going to do a
drop set. We’re going to run the rack. We’re going to do a gauntlet style, as my
boy CT would say. The fact is, make your exercises and your
workouts harder by incorporating different techniques into how you do them. I think the biggest place we fall stale in
our training is ab training. We literally just do either reps until we
get bore, or we just do everything in straight sets. We do nothing to change up the way we train
our abs, and that’s not going to be the case today. So we’ve got four sets of dumbbells for me. I’m using 25s, 20s, 15s, and 10s. Maybe you can’t start that high. That’s okay. You can drop down to the point where you’re
even just doing bodyweight. You can even do two rounds of bodyweight,
but we’ve got four rounds. You can do the four exercises shown here. We’re going 10 reps in each direction on the
Russian twist. We’re doing 10 reps on the Otis-Up [0:01:13]
on both arms, we’re doing 10 reps on each arm with the single arm dumbbell rollout,
and then we’re doing 10 reps one each arm of a single sided renegade row. All right, guys. Let’s get this thing rolling and let’s see
how far you can stick with me. So there you have it, guys. A complete dumbbell workout for your abs.
yeah, that’s right. Not just for the sake of adding dumbbells,
but for the sake of actually making your ab training more difficult. Break out of the monotony. Break out of the routine of ab training and
you’ll start to see much better results from them. Guys, if you’re looking for a way to break
out of the routine, to start training like an athlete so you can start getting better
results from your training; head to ATHLEANX.com and get our ATHLEANX training program. In the meantime, if you’ve found this video
helpful, if you like this workout, if you continue to like to see me put myself through
the pain, let me know below and I’ll continue to try to do that as often as I can. In the meantime, let me know what else you
want to see and I’ll cover that in a future video. All right, guys. See you soon.

  1. I still hate working fucking abs. I didn't use to work my legs , the fact that it was completely borring. But I changed my mind , and decided to work it and loved it too much , because Working leg was including a lot of pain and ı was the one who loved pain , But when it comes to abs , İ've never tried to work my abs until i got the importance of it. Because I was a basketball player , I , therefore , started to train my abs for the strength and the stability , that was my main purpose. But now , i know that it is actually playing a very important role to complete the total body look and having me look better with it. This is right , but Fuck the abs , i got low body fat , they're visible but not too much and this is enough but of course i will be training for the stability and strenght. The video was perfect , keep it up !

  2. I don't think this is healthy on the spine long-term…. I think I'll just stick to my L sits and stomach vacuums..

  3. This kind of presentation from Jeff is exactly what I as ”homegymmer” hope to find from Youtube. Thanks Jeff, keep doing this stuff!
This particular workout helped me as a mountainbiker to get through difficult, hand and back soring trails.

  4. Jeff you are doing an amazing job! Thank you for everything, could you please do some videos about katlebell pls.

  5. You are legit bro. No b.s. I have alot of muscle but I have a layer of fat I'm trying to remove. Anyway we could connect thru email or something so I can get a workout? I am 5'6" at 210 lbs. I can bench 200. I can lift 30 lb dumbbells and do 3 sets of 10 with them but I only seem to be gaining muscle when I'm trying to get rid of fat and water weight

  6. @Jeff Cavalier
Hey…someone suggested a live workout with the fans?!
Cmon Jeff. Lets do this. In real time. We would love it, man!

  7. Jeff: Let's see how far you can stick with me.
Me: The whole video (if watching you do the exercise), 10seconds only if doing it.

  8. You make this look easy. I've recently added this as part of my routine, abs (or lack of) are screaming at me. It has also restricted my appetite, which means no more unhealthy snacking. Thanks again for all your hardwork :).

  9. Great information because for me abs have been the hardest to train because I get bored with the same old exercise, I would like for you to demonstrate a great well rounded full body workout for us older guys

  10. Whenever i try doing weighted abs i feel no contraction or burning sensation and my arms will give out before anything. Any tips?

  11. Hey Jeff, I know this is a really old video but it brought up a question almost 2 years after I first saw it. Is there a way to load the abdominals similar to a deadlift/RDL for the lower back? After the last few years of really getting heavy on RDL's (due to previous lower back injury) It kinda hit me, how do I create that same stimulus on the front?

  12. You could actually do the workout with your audience instead of just doing a highlights reel, what use is this video? 🚮

  13. this may be me but I hate this workout, i much prefer the 7 min intense workout because there i feel my abs screaming. this here i dont really feel anything but my arms giving out instead.

  14. The music itself is intimidating. Feels like the movie Terminator where machines are trying to wipe out humanity.

  15. These workouts are awesome but if I use my hexagonal weights to do that rollout exercise my neighbors will kill me.

  16. This channel has basically all the information you need to get yourself in shape and then some, Jeff is THE real deal.
